Important Disclaimer:
In April 1965, Ecurie Francorchamps took delivery of a
second 250 LM, s/n
6313. While that other car was raced with a single
wiper arm, it did have a second wiper spindle immediately to the rear of the left Perspex intake on the front lid.
Travel carnets were required for unregistered
cars to cross borders. If
whichever car originally intended for a particular race
was not race-ready, the
chassis tags of 6023 and 6313 would be swapped as
needed, to match any previously-obtained travel carnet.
Consequently, racing records have to be
reconciled against photographic
evidence to determine which of the two cars was
racing where, and/or with which race number!

Important Note:
Coming out of David Piper's ownership, 6023 carried the
chassis tag of 6313 (and vice versa), which Piper had
owned at the same time. This caused these both cars to
be mis-identified for nearly 30 years. The tags in both
cars would finally be corrected around 2017.
