This very special Bugatti has passed through the hands of several important collectors including Henri
Malartre, one of the first men to preserve these early cars and build an automotive heritage who founded the
motor museum in Rochetaillée. This car has competed no less than eight times in the Mille Miglia Historic.
The Type 23, also known as the « Brescia », was the first Bugatti to feature an engine with four valves per
cylinder, making it exceptional in its day. |
Five collections and some modern highlights |
There will be several collections in the sale including a special group of four Ferrari dating from the 1970s to
the 2000s, belonging to Raymond Jeannot. Also, ten cars from a Monegasque enthusiast featuring a 1961
Ferrari 250 GTE Series 1 as well as a splendid array of convertibles ranging from a 1975 VW Beetle
cabriolet to the rather more flamboyant 1960 Cadillac Series 62 Cabriolet. |

There will also be a selection of more affordable collectors’ items, including the 1969 Renault 8 Gordini that
won its class in the 1969 Hungarian Rally Championship (estimate €40,000 – 60,000), and a 1988 Ferrari
Testarossa in original condition with 34 361km on the clock (estimate €20,000 – 30,000, no reserve). |
Collectors’ motorcycles in the spotlight |

The collection, stored for many years in a private museum, comprises a wide range of marques and
models, from classic Italian bikes such as the 1967 Benelli Sport Leoncino 125 (estimate €1,000 - 2,000) to
sought-after German machines including the very special 1937 Zündapp K 800 Side-Car (estimate €30,000 -
35,000). One of BMW’s greatest successes will also star in the sale : the BMW R80 G/S. This model
launched the GS range in 1980 and became a best¬seller for the marque. The example in the sale dates
from 1984 and is estimated at €12,000 - 15,000. |
