The auction house will present more than 20 automobiles from the collection of the late well-known Southern
California collector Donald L. Weber. Mr. Weber’s extraordinary collection of postwar sports and racing cars
is highlighted by a 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 (Estimate: $2,750,000 – $3,500,000), a superb example that he
owned from new. Chassis 10443 was purchased by Mr. Weber at the Ferrari Factory in Maranello, Italy in
1967. Shortly thereafter, he and his wife, together with Luigi Chinetti and Eddie Smith, drove their new red 275
GTB/4 to France – a memorable trip documented in photos and a letter preserved in the car’s remarkable
history file. In its 53 years under Mr. Weber’s ownership, 10443 has been comprehensively restored by the
renowned Junior’s House of Color and Tony Nancy, exhibited at the 1997 Pebble Beach Concours
d’Elegance®, and is Ferrari Classiche Red Book Certified. The presentation of this Ferrari at auction is a rare
and exciting opportunity to acquire a one-owner 275 GTB/4, complete with its original books, tools, and
warranty card.
The Weber Collection also includes another significant one-owner Ferrari – an ultra-desirable 1992 Ferrari
F40 (Estimate: $1,700,000 – $2,200,000), among the last of only 213 US-specification examples built. This
F40 is one of just 22 built in 1992, the final year of production. It was purchased new by Mr. Weber and has
been a fixture in his collection ever since. This is a true time capsule F40, presented in original condition and
showing less than 2,500 miles on the odometer. Offered with its books, fitted luggage, extensive
correspondence and documentation, and a report by Ferrari historian Marcel Massini, this is surely a unique
opportunity to own a low-mileage, one-owner example of Ferrari’s most iconic supercar.
Alongside these outstanding Ferraris, additional highlights from the sale of the Weber Collection include a
low-mileage 1965 Ferrari 275 GTS (Estimate: $1,300,000 – $1,600,000), a beautifully restored 1973 Ferrari
365 GTB/4 Daytona (Estimate: $550,000 – $650,000), a rare 1967 Lamborghini 400 GT 2+2 (Estimate:
$375,000 – $450,000), and two one-owner icons, a 1989 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Edition
(Estimate: $275,000 – $350,000) and a 1986 Ferrari Testarossa (Estimate: $175,000 – $225,000, Without
Reserve), both showing less than 2,000 miles. Also included in Mr. Weber’s collection is a selection of
historic Indy cars and midget racers, including a 1951 Kurtis Kraft K4000 Indy Car (Estimate: $250,000 –
$350,000) that Sam Hanks drove at the Indianapolis 500, as well as several rarely seen European tuner cars,
including a 1984 Ferrari 512 BBi Koenig Special (Estimate: $250,000 – $350,000).
