Hofer's letter was published giving interesting
details about 016 when owned by him such as:
In the Fall of 1969,
I purchased from the Ferrari Factory, directly from
Mr. Della Casa, the original body (of 0862) and
commissioned Mr. Piero Drogo of Carrozzeria Sportscar
to fix it to my Dino S, chassis number 016. [...]
This car in its new
dress was lent by me to a not serious person for a
Race Car Show at the end 1970, and he never returned
it to me. Several years later, it must have been
1982/83, we learned that the car had surfaced in
Sweden and is now raced, converted back to original
Dino 206 S configuration. |
