Europe’s most important historic racing event?
Europe’s probably most important event for historical motor racing, the International
Historic Festival at Silverstone, will be hosted again by renowned auction house Coys of
Kensington. The event will – as always – include numerous races for GT cars, sports
prototypes and monoposti.
Shell Ferrari Maserati Challenge
The Shell Ferrari Maserati Challenge will be part of the meeting again, although only
disc-brake cars are eligible this time. Entries will probably include Ed Davies’ 512 M s/n
1024 and Patrick Stieger’s 512 M s/n 1018, to name two of the probably fastest cars in the
field consisting of about 30 Ferrari and two Maserati. While www.Maranello.cc contributor
Gregor Schulz was told by Jacky Ickx during the recent Ferrari Racing Days at the
Nürburgring that he (Ickx) would not attend the Silverstone event, the Challenge
organizers of Peter Auto announced him to be one of the guest starters. We will see.
