Frankfurt, 24th January 2004
The Scuderia Ferrari will present its new Formula 1 car for the upcoming
2004 season on Monday, January 26 in Maranello. This event will take
place in the Vecchia Meccanica building inside the factory complex.
Hundreds of journalists are expected to attend this annual ceremony that
usually brings together Ferrari’s entire board of directors, headed by CEO
Luca di Montezemolo, plus all the key persons of the Scuderia, headed by
Jean Todt. Technical director Ross Brawn will probably show up as well as
the drivers and test drivers.
The new car has already been named ”F2004” by the media, but the author
expects that it’s not definitely sure that the new Formula 1 car will bear this
name. Especially since it’s also the 50th in Ferrari’s history…
Ferrari did market the event via www.owners.ferrari.com, offering Ferrari
customers the possibility to join the spectacle as a spectator, including a
side programme that features a dinner and a tour of the factory at night on
Sunday. Many owners’ clubs took the occasion and plan to show presence
at the event with groups of up to 22 participants.
The unveiling will start at 11.00 h on Monday and will be broadcast live on
www.owners.ferrari.com. Barchetta.cc’s roving editor Andreas Birner will
attend the event — watch out for full text and photo coverage within the next
couple of days, including the traditional Maranello Tour.
