The most beautiful cars in the world
Did you plan a trip to Paris in the next months or don’t you know
where to spend your next holidays ? If so, choose Paris and
spend a while at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris
downtown, close to Louvre museum till August 28th.
Indeed, a dramatic cars collection is exposed as a temporary
exhibition that features automobile as true art. Name of exhibition
lets no doubt : “L’art de l’automobile”. Seventeen cars of
American famous stylist and well-known car collector Ralph
Lauren’s collection, amongst the most beautiful cars ever
designed, celebrate automobile art in a wonderful scenery by
Jean-Michel Wilmotte. Ralph Lauren’s collection is famous not
only for quantity of cars (around 70), but overall by quality and
rarity of cars owned, many of them being famous race winners.
You’ll be able to admire some iconic cars like a Mercedes 300 SL
“Gullwing”, a Jaguar Type D or Porsche 550 Spyder. Five
exceptionnal Ferraris of the collection, all red, are exposed : a
375 Plus (s/n 0398TF) from 1953, a 250 Testa Rossa “Pontoon”
(s/n 0734TR), a Right Hand Drive 250 LM s/n 6321LM, a 250 GT
Short Wheel Base berlinetta Competizione s/n 2035GT and a
fantastic 250 GTO s/n 3987GT. Among other rarities exposed,
one of the only four Bugatti SC Atlantic ever built will welcome
you at the entrance of the exhibition, and you’ll be astonished by
a gorgeous Jaguar XKSS and a dramatic one-off Mercedes SSK
roadster.
Just don’t miss this impressive exhibition that will enable you, for
the first time in Europe, to admire a large part of Ralph Lauren’s
collection and overall what automobile industry has made of most
beautiful and artistic production.
