San Francisco, 9 December, 2014

Bonhams is thrilled to announce the addition of several exquisite cars from the most desirable name in performance motoring: Ferrari. Joining the recently announced, trophy-ladened
1966 Ferrari 275 GT Competizione that captured headlines worldwide, are seven additional cars from the respected Italian marque.

Originally built for the 1955 Mille Miglia is the very rare 1955 Ferrari 250 Europa GT Alloy Coupe with elegant coachwork by Pinin Farina. This matching numbers example, built to rare competition specifications, is just one of two ever bodied with alloy coachwork. With an engine rebuild and paint refinish by respected marques specialists, this well documented car is a Ferrari Club of America Platinum Award winner and is offered with tools, manuals and factory build sheets. And while it wasn’t completed by the Modena factory in time to enter the 1955 Mille Miglia, it has successfully run the Mille Miglia Storica numerous times. Rare, fast, gorgeous and well known, few sports racers of this era – of any marque – can compare.

From the model made immortal by Steve McQueen is a stunning 1963 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso Berlinetta. Just four owners from new – with a single owner for over 40 years, this matching numbers example was sold new through the Ferrari Milano flagship store Crepaldi and has just over 53,200 original miles. Finished in its original livery of Blu Notte Metallizzato, this superb-condition car is a true show stopper.

Another rare alloy-bodied Ferrari is the 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB Alloy with improved long nose design. With the sleek, aggressive appearance and performance of a predator, this is one of the most iconic models of mid-century Ferraris. Matching numbers and Ferrari Classiche-certified, it is the recipient of an outstanding restoration, finished in its original livery and running like new.

A 1969 Ferrari Dino 246 GT that has been in same ownership for many years will also be on offer. This is a rare, early L-series example and is a prestigious Ferrari Club of America Platinum Award winner. Offered without reserve, the rising interest in Dinos will surely make this car the subject of great attention. And another impressive Dino, a 1972 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS, is a beautiful example of the highly desirable open tops. Fitted with many factory options, like air conditioning and power windows, this, too, is sure to command strong interest among collectors.

From the 1969 Montreal Auto Salon show is the 1969 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona. Delivered new to Canada, this example is the desirable early plexi-nose model and has the distinction of being the 88th Daytona made.

These and other Ferraris, such as a 1971 365 GTB/4 Daytona, a 1972 365 GTS/4 Daytona and a 1966 330 GTC will be offered on Thursday, January 15th at the Bonhams Scottsdale Auction, hosted at the luxurious and easily accessible
Westin Kierland Resort & Spa.
