Paris, 23 April, 2016

The fourth day of the competition saw the Tour Auto heading south to Marseille. The field started at 7am, heading in the direction of the narrow and twisting roads of Ardèche. The first rally stage of the day called « Le Moulinon » was won by Jean-Pierre Lajournade in his Jaguar E-type. Ludovic Caron, 2nd overall in the VHC category, once again trailing in his Cobra, by 21 seconds, leaving Lajournade a comfortable overall leader.

After a lunch at the Abbaye of Bouchet, it was time to go back to the competition with the last stage of the day in Saint Victor. Lajournade won again, finishing four seconds ahead of Caron.

Finally the field arrived at the hilly Ledenon circuit, where the Cobras of Lynn and Caron dominated the E-type of Lajournade, but just barely so.

So, before the last day of competition Lajournade is still leader in the VHC category, while Florent Jean in his Ferrari 308 Gr IV is leading the GHI group.

Tomorrow will be a long day for drivers and co-drivers. A first stage near Marseille and the Paul Ricard circuit are on the morning program, before heading towards Cannes in the afternoon. The rally will finish with two night stages on the Rally Monte Carlo roads.
