Maranello, December 4, 2001
On December 3rd, 2001 the Brazilian soccer star Adriano Leite Ribeiro spent a visit to
Ferrari at Maranello. The 19 years old forward is a member of renowned Inter Milan
soccer club and also a player with Brazil’s national team.
The young soccer star visited the Gran Turismo production line and the Showroom,
where he was able to admire the current Ferrari range. Although being quite tall (1,86
m), Leite Ribeiro did fit into the 360 spider perfectly and stated that his next car would
for sure come from Maranello…
Adriano Leite Ribeiro would be one more soccer star on an already impressive list of
players to own or have owned at least one Ferrari. In Germany, 1970’s soccer ace
Günter Netzer was famous for having owned several Ferrari (and he reportedly still
does!), Diego Maradonna was another customer of Ferrari’s, and nowadays
Manchester United has even two Ferraristi among their players, named David Beckham
and Ryan Giggs.
