The 23rd edition of the annual Cavallino Classic started today with the first of
two track days at the Palm Beach International Raceway. As in previous years
the first day saw just few cars on track and looking at the prices just from last
week’s auctions in Arizona it is not a big surprise that less and less cars of this
value are raced these days. |
Two weeks ago this year’s Tour Auto finished in Marseille after a total distance
of almost 2000 km through France, back then we reported on a daily basis from
the event ( see Scrutineering, Day 1 , Day 2, Day 3, Day 4 and Day 5 ), now
with some distance of time it’s about looking back at the participating cars. |
More than 50 years ago the first International Bugatti Meeting was held at the
Scottish border in Great Britain and since that first meeting every year another
national club has the privilege to organize a meeting for the Bugattisti. One year
after the jubilee in Scottland the torch was passed to the German Bugatti Club
were the preparation were already well under way when the entrants were said
good bye in the highlands after a memorable week in 2013. Although it was a
great challenge to succeed these organizers of the 2014 meeting prepared a
superb program that does not need to be afraid of any comparison with previous
editions. |

After the Pre-Reunion at Laguna Seca finally the Classic Car week in Monterey
was kicked off with two very different events. Early in the morning the private tour
of Sir Michael Kadoorie was started at the Quail Lodge golf course where the

This is the end of an era and so I have decided to leave my position as
Chairman after almost 23 marvellous and unforgettable years in addition to those
spent at Enzo Ferrari’s side in the 1970s. |
